It was good to read the letter from Ken Robson in the Newton News celebrating a great year for the ACORN Residents’ Association. I would like to thank and congratulate Ken, his team and the residents for the part they are playing in that success.
It’s also good to see that councillors were acknowledged and appreciated for their input and I fully agree the cooperation of councillors and residents can make the work for the community so much more expansive and inclusive.
I would also like to thank the ACORN Team for helping with other resident communities especially the important part they have played alongside Syd Howarth and Great Aycliffe Residents’ Association in setting up the new Neville Residents’ Association which is working to mirror ACORN’s success.
May I wish you all the very best with your endeavour going forward. Working hard for the benefit of the people of Newton Aycliffe speaks volumes about your spirit and character. Long may it continue. Merry Christmas. Cllr. Jim Atkinson
