Dear Editor,
For the past two years as a West Ward councillor I have requested to have shrubs removed from the car park in Silkin Way and Stephenson Way area, The reason being they were not looked after and left very untidy with a lot of self seeded saplings starting to grow, spoiling the shrubs and rose beds.
Last week as promised in 2014 by Durham County Council Officer Colin Curry, work, started and the shrubs were removed and top soil placed ready for re-planting of bulbs and grass seed.
Thank you to County Councillor Brian Stephens, and Colin Curry, not forgetting the staff that worked out in the rain to do this job.
Well done!
Alderman George Gray,
West Ward Councillor
