Can I through your paper please say a big thank you to the Town Coucil and Parks Dept. for keeping the main pavements into and out of the town clear of snow, a sterling job.

The Town Council has a winter maintenance partnership agreement with Durham County Council to clear snow and spread salt on certain designated footways in Newton Aycliffe.
These areas are: Central Avenue (all), St Cuthbert’s Way (Central Avenue-Blue Bridge), Stephenson Way (all), Pease Way (all) and Burn Lane (all).
In addition, the Town Council has also agreed to replenish salt bins as and when required throughout the Town, School Aycliffe and Aycliffe Village. Durham County Council and the Probation Service also deploy staff to clear snow and spread salt in other areas of Newton Aycliffe during the winter period.
