Dear Sir,
Following on from recent letters concerning cutting down trees around the town, may I suggest that the council or whichever body is responsible to advise the local population in advance, via this excellent newspaper.
We should know which trees are to be felled and why. It would also be advisable to plant another tree of similar type in the near vicinity to replace the one felled.
Should the Council do this they would be praised and avoid being maligned.
