Residents in County Durham are being encouraged to get involved in an initiative aimed at brightening up communities.
The Royal Horticultural Society’s It’s Your Neighbourhood campaign is aimed at volunteer-led groups who work to clean up their area and make it more attractive using plants and flowers. It’s a free non-competitive scheme which gives smaller community groups the chance to take part in the wider Britain in Bloom initiative.
Groups who are successful in obtaining a grant will be supported by Durham County Council’s Civic Pride Team in developing and implementing their improvement scheme. For further information people can contact the Civic Pride Team on 03000 26 1000 or email civicpride@durham.gov.uk
