On Wednesday 22nd July 2 ladies from Costa at West Auckland visited the children at Woodham Burn Out of School Club after we wrote a letter to them. Jane Costa Manager and Katie who is the Deputy Manager told us where coffee beans come from, the process of making coffee and how Costa raises funds for countries in poverty through the Costa Foundation. We took part in a challenge of balancing a 20p on a lemon for 5 seconds.
Jane and her team are raising money for the Costa Foundation through this challenge.
We had a chance to look and smell the coffee beans at different stages from raw, roasted, and then crushed into ground coffee. We completed a word search, designed our in a Costa mug picture and even designed our own name badge to use in our role play area.
The ladies from Costa kindly brought each of us a gingerbread biscuit, hot chocolate and marshmallows which we had for tea.
We would like to thank them for visiting us and telling us all about their job at Costa.
