Last week students at Greenfield Community College tested their cooking skills as part of the national Spring Board “FutureChef” competition. The competition for young people aged 12 to 16 is designed to encourage young people to learn about cooking, trying new recipes and being creative in the kitchen!
On Wednesday 23rd October a group of enthusiastic students from a variety of year groups took part in the school heat here at Greenfield. The competition, which was judged by Colette and Stuart from the County Hotel in Aycliffe Village was a great success, with all the students creating delicious meals! Stuart, the chef at the County said he was “very pleased with the culinary competence of all who entered. A high standard was achieved by all!”
Congratulations to the winner of the competition Regan Edden who will now progress to a local heat at Middlesbrough college later this term with his “Farmhouse al Fresco” creation which was a turkey breast stuffed with red peppers and cheese, and served with sweet potato. Thank you to Colette and Stuart for their time to be our judges, and good luck Regan!
