Agnew Community Centre had its summer brightened up thanks to local businesses generously giving the facility a lick of bright paint. Mears who repair and maintain homes on behalf of livin and local firm Kerrison spent a week transforming the tired looking centre, reaching high ceilings which had previously gone unpainted for many years due to health and safety.
Vibrant colours were chosen for each of the rooms which has been a real hit with the children. Agnew is a cornerstone of the local community, providing a day nursery, sports clubs and a youth club to name a few. The centre can now offer one of its rooms as a meeting room following the makeover with businesses already showing an interest in using it.
Colin Middlemass, MD, Mears said: “It’s great to see the impact of this project, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we work, we are delighted the children are happy.”
Ron Mitchie, Centre Manager, Agnew Centre said ‘All the operatives were very efficient, helpful, interacted well around the centre and did a first class job. A big thank you to everyone who was involved in the transformation.’
