Scott Wood from Darlington is a former Army Tank Commander, selected by the Conservative Party as Parliamentary Candidate for the Sedgefield constituency.
Now 40, he spent two decades serving in the Royal Tank Regiment and Chemical Biological Radiological & Nuclear Regiment, with deployments to Northern Ireland, Afghanistan and Iraq on peace and stability operations.
Following his return to civilian life last year, he opened a restaurant. He is proud to be selected as he has always been interested in politics. “My focus is to create a more equal and fair society allowing everyone to have a voice and a better secure future. I want to see more jobs, better housing, flights at our local airport, a control on immigration, lower taxes, the best schools, working communities and a working economy” said Scott.
