Give yourself a confidence boost for 2013 – Become a ‘Confident Consumer’! If you are aged 50+ and live in County Durham, Age UK is offering free training. Our interactive and informal ‘Confident Consumer’ course can help you increase your confidence to speak up and share your views.

Over a couple of days or 4 half day sessions you will:

• Learn what age discrimination is and how to avoid it;

• Get a snapshot of different behaviours and develop your assertiveness skills;

• Learn a range of positive communication skills and when to use them;

• Refresh your negotiating skills and realise how important these can be when asking for what you need;

• Gain more confidence about sharing your views and experiences with organisations and service providers.

The course is very flexible and can be delivered in a range of ways to meet your needs. If you are part of a community group you might like to have the course provided for your members. Just give us a call and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Our next 2 day course is in Newton Aycliffe at the Youth Centre on Tues 19 and Wed 20 February 2013 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm with lunch provided. If you would like to take part please contact Danielle or Clare on 0191 383 9750.
