Durham’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Ron Hogg, is encouraging the public to give their views on his draft Police and Crime Plan for 2013-17.
The plan sets out Mr Hogg’s objectives for his policing priorities for County Durham and Darlington and how he will hold the Chief Constable to account for police performance over the coming years.
Mr Hogg said: “My draft Police and Crime Plan reflects my vision for policing County Durham and Darlington. During December and January I asked the public to tell me their top policing priorities for the coming year, which I have incorporated into my Plan.
I hope that residents and partner organisations take the opportunity to view the draft plan and feedback any comments or concerns”.
The plan will be formally presented to the Police and Crime Panel, which scrutinises the work of the Commissioner, on 5th March 2013. Mr Hogg is also consulting on his Draft Equality Action Plan, which he plans to launch at the same time as his Police and Crime Plan, on 1 April 2013.
Discussing his Equality Action Plan, Mr Hogg said: “I take equality, diversity and human rights matters in policing very seriously and want to ensure all residents have a police service which is equal and inclusive to all. Therefore I also encourage residents to view my draft Equality Action Plan and let me or my team know of any comments or suggestions over the next couple of weeks”.
