In collaboration with Cute Fox Events, Comic Con is returning to Hopetown Darlington for two days in July. Hopetown Summer Con will take place on Saturday 5 between 11am-5pm and Sunday 6 July between 10am-5pm in Hopetown’s outdoor spaces.
Hopetown Summer Con promises to be a great value day out for all the family offering attractions such as photo opportunities, walkabout characters, traders, face painting and lots more – including celebrity guest appearances.
Great Scott! Returning for Hopetown Summer Con is the ever-popular DeLorean DMC-12 car made famous by the Back to The Future films. You can sit in the car for the ultimate photo opportunity.
Jeff Cummings from Cute Fox Events said: “We are really excited to be bringing Comic Con back to Hopetown Darlington after the amazing event in February. There’ll be special guests, traders, cosplay and photo opportunities galore, and we know it will be a great day out for all of the family.”
Already announced guests include Dene Michael from the band Black Lace, Phil Fletcher and Hacker T Dog from CBBC, original Gladiators Saracen and Scorpio and Art the Clown from the Terrifier horror series. More guests are in the pipeline and will be revealed soon.
Visitors are encouraged to dust off their cosplay or get the sewing machine whirring for a cosplay competition taking place at 4pm each day! Who will you come as? There are two age categories: Under 14 and 14 and over. There’ll be special trophies for the winners and certificates for our runners up. You can only enter by attending Summer Con.

It was a real crowd pleaser as it brought a brand-new and now loyal audience to the attraction, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back for Summer Con in July. It will be the perfect start to Hopetown Darlington’s Summer programme.”
