Together proved to be a bit of a theme when ‘Churches Together’ in Great Aycliffe made a generous donation to the Pioneering Care Partnership’s ‘Together 21’ project.
Churches Together in Great Aycliffe consists of representatives from the churches in the area who work collectively to do great things for the community and Together 21 promotes learning, friendship and fun for children with Down syndrome and their families. The kind gift of £150 was received by the parents and children just before Christmas and the funding will be used to support activities and resources.
Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive, said, “I would like to thank Churches Together for the donation which means such a lot to the group. It is really difficult to find external funding to sustain Together 21 so we heavily rely on gifts and donations to keep the sessions running. The parents tell me that Together 21 provides a real lifeline for them and the difference the learning and practical support makes for the children is easy to see. The work Together 21 do is simply amazing and the support of Churches Together is very much appreciated by all.”
