The Christmas trees have arrived at Sugar Hill and our official ‘Christmas Countdown’ has started with the children decorating the trees with their ‘Christmas Wishes’.
This year the children have spent time discussing with staff and their peers what their wishes would be to make a difference to our world. At the start of every December, we have whole school assemblies where the children share their wishes but this year, due to the pandemic, this has not been possible as we cannot meet in our school hall as a large group.
After working in class, the children have put their wishes on to the trees in small groups. In this photograph three Year 4 pupils are placing their wishes on the tree outside Mrs O’Rourke’s office. Ollie’s wish is for all wars to end. Alara wishes for every virus to end and Betsy wishes all poor people to have a home. The children of Sugar Hill would like to pose a question to all readers of the Newton News. ‘If you could have one wish come true this Christmas what would it be?’
