The House of Eden Nursery at the PCP Centre hosted two Chinese girls, Zoey and Fayer, for 2 weeks. The girls spent time in the nursery interacting with our children and on other occasions went on trips with our children. We visited Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth, Forbidden Corner in North Yorkshire, Adventure Valley in Durham as well as enjoying a session in the Pioneering Care Centre’s hydropool.
Their mums, Ju and Min accompanied us on a couple of trips and did some sightseeing of their own. The girls taught our children to count in chinese while our children taught them English songs.
On Friday August 9th we held a farewell party and sports afternoon. The girls enjoyed taking part in the races and at the end we had a small graduation ceremony and presented them with a certificate and a farewell card.
The two mums also took part in the parents’ egg and spoon race. We have really enjoyed the experience and we are going to keep in touch with Zoey and Fayer.”
