Schoolchildren played the name game to give life to new developments in Newton Aycliffe and Fishburn.
Pupils from Woodham Burn and Fishburn Primary Schools have scooped prizes for naming proposed new developments, which includes bungalows and spacious new family housing.
All the children from the schools took part in the competition and the winning entries, chosen by livin, were Beacon Court in Newton Aycliffe and Diamond Close in Fishburn.
The youngsters have now had a school visit from livin and Southdale about health and safety issues on construction sites and the winning pupils each received a Kindle as a prize.
Ian Brown, Head of Development and Allocations for livin, added: “It is great that the schools have got so involved with these exciting new homes for rent and that so many entries were put forward for the competition.
The proposed development includes 2 bungalows and 13 family houses for rent at Fishburn and 6 family homes at Newton Aycliffe.
The scheme has been designed by architect P+HS and has been part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency. A planning application has been submitted and a decision is expected shortly.
Southdale Managing Director Paul Moore added: “Its fantastic to work with livin to build high quality new for rent in local communities and being able to involve children in such an exciting competition as well as explaining the importance of construction site safety.
