Collectors of comic books, from DC, Marvel and Independent publishers, as well as football and British comic annuals from days gone by, may be pleased to know that such items can now be found in Newton Aycliffe, at the charity shop ‘Allsorts’, (annexed to St Clare’s Church hall) run by Godfrey Bennett, a retired electrician and long time ‘hoarder’ of ‘everything under the sun’.
The charity shop, which has supported numerous charities over the years, including the Air Ambulance Service and the Darlington & Bishop Auckland Hospital scanner appeal, is open for business from 10am till 1pm, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and holds a plethora of items for anyone seeking a bargain.
“It’s like an Alladin’s Cave” said Mr Bennett “with the added advantage that prices are low, making purchases affordable without breaking the bank.”
