Dear Sir,
Last September we lost our precious Bob Theakston at the age of six due to stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer. He battled this for several years before passing away last September on the first day of the school term.
Bob has left a huge hole in our hearts which we will never fill. He has left behind a class of children who miss him tremendously, especially my son and nephew who still struggle with grief.
Over the Easter weekend, my son’s dad and three of his friends (Callum Dainton, Dan Graham, Kyle and Darren Swankie) will be running from Bob’s home in Newton Aycliffe to Elland Road Stadium in Leeds, as Bob was the biggest Leeds supporter.
Following Bobs second diagnosis he was invited to Leeds stadium to be a mascot with Illan Meslier (Leeds goalkeeper) and to watch training sessions whilst spending time with Daniel Farke and the team.
This run will be over 70 miles, and the four lads are just everyday lads, who want to raise money for a charity that took care of Bob throughout his treatments.
We are not asking for money, we are asking for awareness to Bob’s story and the actions of these four incredible men to add to Bob’s legacy.
If there is any way you can help us spread our cause and shine a light on the most precious little boy that graced the North East.
