On Saturday 13th February we held our 2nd Annual Charity Quiz night to raise money for The British Heart Foundation at Newton Aycliffe Scout Hall. We wanted to raise funds for this great charity as my husband had received life-saving treatment at James Cook Hospital, 3 years ago after suffering a heart attack.
We beat last year’s total and raised a brilliant £1,547. Everyone enjoyed a Pie and Pea supper supplied by Walkers Butchers and we had a great quiz led by brilliant quiz master Ian Banks. Congratulations to the winners, 6s+7s, Dorothy Blackbourne’s team.
We received raffle prizes/donations from Aycliffe Fabrications, Darchem Engineering, JAJECS Electrical Services, The Olive Garden, Occasions, Julie’s Pets, Emre’s, Wilkinsons, Stuart at Derek Wards, Tesco, Workshop Supplies, Gestamp Tallent, Jewsons, Edmundson Electrical, UPEX Electrical, Knaptons Insurance and friends and families. Thank you to Paul Mather and John Howsen for their donation of prizes for the raffle and Denise, Christine, Susan, Mary and families for help setting the room up, organising raffle and tombola, marking quiz and dishing up pie and pies
Jon, Bernie and Joshua Patchett would like to thank everyone who donated prizes, helped on the night and those who came and made it such a great night, without you we couldn’t have done it. Hopefully it will now become an annual event!
