Barlow charity night

I am organising fundraising events to hopefully buy an Autism service dog for my autistic nephew Zaine and also for the Autism Awareness Society and Service Dogs Europe.

Zaine was diagnosed with autism when he was two years old. An autism service dog will help him with his day to day struggles and will be a fantastic companion for him. These dogs are trained over time specially to help make life easier. They help distract from repetitiveness, calm/prevent melt downs also build on confidence with things like going into new or crowded areas and lots more, things we do everyday and don’t think twice about. (For more information about how these wonderful dogs that can help children like Zaine please have a look on the link: http://www.servicedogseurope-uk.com/autism-service-dogs/)

The dogs are supplied by Service Dog Europe, but unfortunately don’t come for free, they cost £6,000. We would like to help raise as much money as we can to put towards a dog but also help other children in need by donating to Autism Awareness Society and Service Dogs Europe.

We have a donation page set up if you wish to donate here is the link to Zaine’s page: http://letsgofundraise.com/fundraiser_detail.php?fundid=96

We have completed many fundraising events over the last few months from 80’s night, craft fairs, raffles, Louise (Zaines mum) did the water side in Sunderland and many more. Not only did we do these events to help raise funds but get the local community together so everyone can have a good time. The craft fair I organised in April in The Newgate Centre, Bishop Auckland was such a big hit, people are still asking for another one now! It didnt only just put money in the pot but other crafter’s sold their beautiful items and got their names about as well as bringing life to the centre.

I am currently organising a Gary Barlow tribute act with local support acts and disco at Planet Leisure, Newton Aycliffe. I have a photographer, Sweet Wheel, Room Decorations, amazing raffle prizes. Tickets are £20 which will include chicken and chips, sweets and a goodie bag. Tickets are on sale now from myself and Planet Leisure for Friday 3rd July at 7pm.

We have had lots of kind, generous donations, help and support from the community and we are overwhelmed and truly grateful. Just goes to show there are amazing people out there.
