Dear Sir,
On Sunday I was on the route of the Olympic Torch Parade and thought it was a great experience. Everyone was enjoying themselves waving flags and it was well worth turning out to see, but then I noticed Councilllors Ray and Dorothy Bowman selling refreshments from their Burger Van on the Youth Centre car park, making money out of the event.
It would appear they were more interested in making a profit than witnessing the torch pass through our town.

Ed: We spoke to Dorothy Bowman who said: “We had the permission of the Youth Centre. If the weather had been wet and cold residents would have welcomed a warm drink which was the service we offered.”
