The big question is how on earth was Carillion allowed to get into a situation of being £900 million in debt before it was noticed?
If it was ordinary ‘Joe Public’ with a monthly mortgage, rent to pay or car payments it would not be long before alarm bells rang, followed by immediate action from people to whom the money was owed.
