Vicky Hodgson, Home Administrator at HC-One’s St Clare’s Court in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham took part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with five friends to raise money for the Residents Comfort Fund.
On Saturday 18th May, Vicky and the rest of the group set off on their Three Peaks journey, covering 24 miles and a total ascent of 1585 metres. The three peaks they covered are Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent and Ingesborough.
This was the first time that Vicky had attempted anything like this before, so everyone was delighted to hear that she completed the challenge in 11 hours and 30 minutes. The group raised a total of £250 which was all donated to the Resident’s Comfort Fund at St Clare’s Court.
St Clare’s Court Home Manager, Michelle Jones said: “Everyone at St Clare’s Court is very proud of Vicky and her friends for completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Our Residents are very grateful for their hard work to raise money for the home’s Comfort Fund.”
