Love was in the air at Rose Lodge Care Home this week as staff served up a special treat for a very special couple.
Resident Audrey Pratt and her husband Ken celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary so staff planned a day for them to remember.
Staff surprised the couple by converting a lounge at the home into a private romantic dining room, decorating it with anniversary-themed decorations and a candelabra table centrepiece.
The happy couple enjoyed a wonderful lunch cooked by Head Chef David Nevison and the kitchen team surrounded by cards gifts and flowers from friends and family.
Ken who helps out with gardening at the home and recently organised donations of flowers and plants for the home’s new display, brought in the horseshoe that Audrey had been given on the day of their wedding as a surprise for his wife.
Care Manager Nicola Wheatley Said: “Ken and Audrey are a wonderful couple so we were so pleased that we could make their day even more special and. it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves.”
