In December we experienced one of the best ever fund raising events held by Ian Larnach Cancer Care Charities. Spennymoor Town Hall was bouncing and many supporters said “in their opinion the event was one of the best ever held in the Town Hall”. A fantastic night, raising £2,500.

A number of Cancer Care organisation’s have now benefited from the proceeds raised with £500 donated to each of the following: Ward 42 and the Rosin Unit Darlington Memorial Hospital, The Mara Unit Bishop Auckland General Hospital, St Teresa’s Hospice Darlington and The Great Aycliffe Cancer Care Group.

“All have a special place in my heart – I just recently spent 10 days in Ward 42, receive regular Chemo at the Mara Unit, experienced first hand what a fantastic job St Teresa’s do as they recently looked after my sister in law on her final journey and saw how Alison White and her team at GACCG look after their members at one of their recent group meetings”.

Other local Cancer Care groups will benefit from donations in due course. In the meantime the team at ILCCC are busy planning 2018 activities. It looks like the Christmas Party has run its course as the Town Hall has already booked all suitable dates in November/December 2018 for weddings – as a great believer in fate, maybe it’s time to find another event, perhaps in the summer, changing the format completely.

More on future donations and fund raising events in the coming months. In the meantime thank you again to everyone who supports our efforts year after year.
