Dear Sir,
Aycliffe needs a moratorium on parking fines while the town centre is being redeveloped. I recently queued at traffic controls only to find no access to the town centre ground floor car parks.
I then queued at Stephenson Way until parking safely near Homeplan while observing DCC wardens ticketing cars on that road before moving elsewhere. The reactions all round were unbelievable disgust at this being done while the town centre was being developed.
The DCC have no consideration for Aycliffe’s needs during this upheaval and often ignore us as the largest town in the Durham Authority. Our County Councillors should be calling for a suspension of parking fines during the construction period.
