This October Butterwick Hospice welcomes you to our very first Moonlight Ribbon Walk.
The Walk
Our Moonlight Ribbon walk is a moonlit 5k route around the stunning Raby Castle. The walk will begin in the Walled Gardens of Raby Castle and will take you past the beautiful grounds, up through the woods, past home farm, and back past the ponds. The route is suitable for all ages, but please be aware it does include ¼ mile of gravelled ground, before continuing on path ways. Dogs are more than welcome, but must be kept on leads and all times, and all waste must be cleaned up. The route will be marshalled, and sign posted the whole way around.
Ribbons
You will receive your ribbon once you have registered, we will be sending out a little information pack with everything you need to know before, during and after the event. Your ribbon will be blue. We encourage everyone to write a message to a loved one on the ribbon, whether this be in memory of, or just someone who means a lot to you. The ribbon can be written on with permanent maker (which works best).

Your ribbons (included in your letter when you register)
Don’t forget to order your glow in the dark items
Yourself, ready for a lovely moonlight walk!
What happens on the night?
We ask all participants to arrive between 6pm – 6.45pm on the night of the moonlight walk. This is to register. In this time we have café facilities, tea, coffee and cake available to purchase to keep warm, along with face painting facilities available for an additional charge. The walk will commence at 7pm. There is no toilet on route, however there are toilet facilities at the beginning and end of the walk.
