I must respond to the sad article about the new Town Bus Service. I feel very sorry for Alex Voy that his new service has not taken off, but can someone tell me where the service operates? Arriva have almost destroyed communication on buses in Newton Aycliffe.
In the North end of the town we used to have a bus go down Meadowfield Way every 10 minutes. This is now reduced to the choice of 1 service (the number 5) every half hour and the service round Alston Crescent has been discontinued.
I do not know which part of the town Mr. Voy is licensed to trade in but I am sure that if the service was extended to the North of the town and even Woodham, it might be better used.
