To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Newtonian Bus Service, Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society will be running a free shuttle service on one of the original Newtonian buses, from the town centre to the museum, for our Museum Open Day. Pick up from the bus stop opposite St. Clare’s Church every hour from 10.00am to 2.00pm on Saturday 20th August. Returns from the museum every hour from 10.50am to 2.50pm.
If travelling by car, the museum entrance is on the junction of Durham Way and Burtree Road on Aycliffe Business Park – look out for the signposts. Unit H, Durham Way South, Langton Business Park, Aycliffe Business Park, Co Durham DL5 6BL.
Admission is free with seven vintage vehicles on display and our in-house workshop. Climb aboard some of the vehicles and experience times gone by and enjoy our displays of uniforms, ticket machines, photographs and other memorabilia.
Free cake and tea (while stocks last) and a tombola.
