Dear Sir,
My good neighbour has a Lurcher dog and having walked passed the Burn several times Roe decided to go in the Burn, she then yelped and, on inspection, had glass in her paw. After taking her to the vets they were advised to take her to the vets in Darlington to have an operation to stitch up the wound.
After recovery she will need regular visits to the vets for redressing which is not only distressing for Roe but for her family and neighbours.
What is wrong with people? What if it was your daughter, sister etc., we would soon hear of it?
This town was a caring town, the broken glass left lying around is appalling. I know some volunteers (big thank you) clean up, including ourselves, but as soon as it’s cleaned up it is once again covered in smashed glass – something needs to be done.
Also, the cut near the fire station is currently a death trap – please be careful with dogs and children . . . people, just be kind, it costs nothing.
