Students from Greenfield Community College had a fabulous musical experience as part of the Durham Brass Festival last week. The band, Bring Your Own Brass, performed at both our Newton Aycliffe and Shildon sites, getting the crowd going as they sampled their special brand of brass. Students were keen to join in and show their appreciation, getting up on stage, singing and rapping and even forming a conga around the hall!
Bring Your Own Brass (BYOB) are a brass band who have been a hit at festivals with an original mix of hip hop beats, heavy riffs and dance tracks. The band were a great success, performing popular music with a difference.
Greenfield has been an enthusiastic supporter of the festival for a number of years and Greenfield Arts were delighted to once again make this unique cultural opportunity available to students. Greenfield Arts are committed to supporting local events such as the Brass Festival and are thrilled to be able to attract such a vibrant musical performance for the students to engage in as part of their wider learning experience.
