A ladies charity fund raising event, “Bras, Boobs, Bakes and Bunting” is to be held on 15th September 2013 at 2pm at Hallgarth Hotel,
It is Day with a difference to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care and Oxfam’s Great Bra Hunt. It aims to increase awareness through having talks directly from Breast Cancer Care on how to check for lumps and bumps and what to do if something isn’t quite right and take some of the fear out of checking our breasts. Lady J a lingerie expert will explain the importance of wearing the correct fitting bra and also how visiting a lingerie department can be a positive uplifting experience and help you feel better about your body.
A Bra Amnesty bin for ladies to donate their old broken bras to be donated to Oxfam’s Great Bra Hunt for ladies in third world countries. These ladies fix the bras and sell them on markets providing much needed “support” for ladies in both employment and in the lingerie department! Oxfam will also be speaking at the event.
Everyone who attends is asked to bring something they have baked for us all to share, be it a pie, cake, bread, biscuits or meringues. Bishop Auckland based textile designer and artist Gillian Arnold will hold a workshop and masterclass in bunting so everyone can have a go and take their own piece home. There will also be free henna and free mini beauty treatments and a variety of tempting stalls from local high quality crafts and business people.
The afternoon’s finale will be a Grand Raffle with many valuable prizes. Tickets are now available and can only be purchased online from wegottickets at just £10 per person.
