Friday 13th December wasn’t unlucky for Aycliffe Boxing Club who had a home fight night.
They presented a lively team of youngsters who have trained endlessly three nights a week to show their skills. With seven out of the eight team members winning, it proved the quality of the boxers.
Amateur boxers came from as far Doncaster and South Shields to participate in the ring and certainly didn’t leave the crowds disappointed.
Marcus Aldworth, one of Newton News deliverers fought a worthy battle in three rounds, winning for the club and gaining another trophy for his cabinet.
Without the dedication of Les, Paula and Darren in training these kids, this wouldn’t have been possible. Winners were presented with trophies and a raffle was run to help support the club.
The club are always looking for businesses to support them, which in turn supports the kids. The boxing club runs various classes for kids aged five and up, as well as ladies and men’s classes.
The club aims to keep kids off the streets, and in turn teaches them the skills and discipline of amateur boxing, in a friendly and warm environment.
