Newtonian Laura Anderson who sustained serious injury at the Manchester Arena Concert attended the Two Minute Silence in the Town Centre for those who lost their lives. Along with others, including Mayor Wendy Hillary she signed the Book of Condolence which is available in the Library from Monday to Saturday, before being delivered to Manchester. Laura told Newton News;” I’m very glad to be able to say that I came home from hospital, after my operation, on Wednesday night and I have been recovering and resting since.
The wounds are healing well, and my stitches will be taken out in another week or so and then I should be able to walk without crutches. I have been very lucky in terms of injuries and how well I was treated. My spirits were lifted on Saturday when I was able to drive back down to Manchester Children’s Hospital to make a surprise visit to my best friend Millie who was also injured, but is recovering well and will be home soon. She and I – and our families are so grateful for all the love and support we’ve received over this past week, and it has really helped in such difficult times like this”.
