Great Aycliffe Town Council’s annual Community Enhancement Award was awarded to this year’s winners Mr and Mrs Vincent of Heatherburn Court by the Mayor, Councillor Jed Hillary. The Mayor was given a tour of the stunning garden which is clearly a labour of love; the colourful display greets any visitor to the street as they round the corner of the property.Mr Vincent explained he starts to think about his flower display very early in the year,  growing the plants on from seed prior to planting out in the garden. Great Aycliffe Town Council would encourage everyone to get involved in this competition. While providing a great deal of satisfaction to the gardeners, the floral displays can also provide just as much pleasure to others in the local community.
