Student success rates at Bishop Auckland College are in the top 10 per cent in the country, figures released last week show.
The latest national league tables published by the Skills Funding Agency for the 2012/13 academic year show 91.1% of students achieved their qualification, placing the college at the top end of both the regional and national rankings.
Success rates reflect the number of students who achieve a qualification as a percentage of those who start courses.
The new performance figures follow a positive verdict at the college’s most recent Ofsted inspection, which found the college was “relentless in its pursuit to drive up the quality of teaching and learning”, adding: “success rates have improved for nearly all students”.
Natalie Davison, Principal and Chief Executive, said: “Bishop Auckland College has much to be proud of and these latest success rates demonstrate both the hard work of our students and our exceptional staff commitment.
“Combined with a student satisfaction rating of 95% and a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted inspectors, the college is performing really well and we are ambitious to do even better. I would urge prospective students and their parents to consider Bishop Auckland College for vocational courses.”
An open evening is being held at the college’s main Woodhouse Lane campus from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday July 15 where prospective students can enrol on a wide range of full and part time further and higher education courses starting this September.
