Dear Sir,
I am writing in relation to a telephone complaint which I submitted to County Council Street Scene on Wednesday 7th October. I was complaining about the way that my recycle wheelie bin and glass recycling bin had been left after emptying.
Both bins appeared to have been thrown across the pavement, coming to rest so that they blocked a pedestrian right of way.
I am certain the bins had been left like this by the bin men and not been subjected to abuse by third parties, because I saw the refuse truck pass the house and immediately noticed that the bins had been left as described.
As far as I am aware no remedial action was taken in relation to this matter between my telephone call at lunchtime and 8pm when I recovered the bins and moved them away from the pavement.
I was not contacted nor visited by Street Scene although I was led to believe that my details would be sent to one of the roving supervisors.
This is not the first time I have contacted Street Scene regarding the apparent abandonment of my bins, but this has previously been because the bins have been left in the roadway.
This last incident was the final straw. The path and steps were blocked by the bins, completely obstructing a public right of way. as shown in the photograph.
