The partnership of local Authorities who are meeting regularly to use their combined strength to influence Government policy is working well.
Cllr Simon Henig as Chairman of the North East Leadership Board said “All 6 Leaders and the Elected Mayor met and held a very constructive meeting on Friday January 17th.  We all reaffirmed our commitment to the need for a strategic body for the area.  We will continue to discuss the way forward and will maintain regular dialogue with the Government.”
