On Saturday 11th February 2017 a 3rd Annual Charity Quiz night raised money for The British Heart Foundation at Newton Aycliffe Scout Hall. Jon, Bernie and Joshua Patchett wanted to raise funds for this great charity as Jon received life saving treatment at James Cook Hospital, 4 years ago after suffering a heart attack. We raised a brilliant £1500 and with some more donations hope to total £2000. Everyone enjoyed a Pie and Pea supper supplied by Walkers Butchers and we had a great quiz led by brilliant quiz master Ian Banks.
Congratulations to the winning team, the Wino’s. We received raffle prizes/ donations from Aycliffe Fabrications, Darchem Engineering, JAJECS Electrical Services, The Olive Garden, Occasions, The County, Emre’s, Wilkinsons, Darlington MOT Centre, Tesco, Workshop Supplies, Gestamp Tallent, Flymo, Jewsons, Edmundson Electrical, UPEX Electrical, Park Electrical and many other local companies, friends and families.
A big thank you to Jessica and Megan for selling raffle tickets; Denise for organising and running the Tombola; Joshua and Sean for marking the quiz and everyone who helped serve the pie and pies plus staff at the Scout Hall. Thanks to David SuttonLloyd from Woodham Community Association who spoke about the funding in place for defibrillators and training.
