On Friday 15 December 2017 staff at Bewick Crescent Surgery held their Christmas jumper day. This year they decided that money raised from the event, together with money from the ‘Surgery Christmas Card’, would go to SSAFA (The Armed Forces Charity).
Carol Hutchinson, Assistant Practice Manager said “It is great that the Practice have decided to support SSAFA this year. I have been volunteering as a caseworker for SSAFA for a couple of years so I am really pleased that the staff decided to support the charity as well. As the surgery have also adopted the Armed Forces Charter this is also a good way of showing our support for the military and ex-military community.”
Carol explained that Christmas is one of the busiest times for the Surgery and because there is a holiday ban for most staff it is important that everyone still gets the opportunity to celebrate; Christmas jumper day is one of the ways the surgery does this as it lifts morale and does some good at the same time.

The Surgery are still collecting and will officially hand the money over in the New Year.
