Whilst others enjoyed a day off in the sun on Bank Holiday Monday, one of the town’s most respected maths teachers was in Woodham Academy working with students in preparation for their upcoming examinations.
Ian Bickerdike, former Deputy Headteacher at Woodham Academy, refused to let a Bank Holiday get in the way of working with the students, who he has earmarked to make excellent progress in their GCSE examinations.
Ian put on a master class during the day and had an exceptional turn out of students who wanted to learn from one of the best.
Deputy Headteacher, Jona-than Lumb, said ‘it was typical of both Ian and the students that a Bank Holiday was not going to stop key learning from taking place. Our year 11 students are working really hard at the moment and we would like to wish them every success this summer in their GCSE examinations.’
