Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre and students from year 9 youth challenge at Greenfield Community College are working together to bring to the people of the Newton Aycliffe area year two of Young Aycliffe’s Got Talent.
Last year the project was run solely by the Youth Centre but it was felt that this year it would be good to include the young people from Greenfield Community College in driving this community project into the second year. There are a number of Young People from the Aycliffe area who have already registered for the event but there is still time for YOU TO REGISTER. Registration for each person wishing to take part in the event is £2.50 per person. So if you have a talent get yourself along to the Youth Centre or speak to one of the students at Greenfield Community College to get your application form. There are cash prizes to be won too.
Joan Clark Secretary of the Youth Centre Management Committee said “it has been refreshing to go along and meet the young people of year 9 Youth Challenge Group at Greenfield Community College. Their enthusiasm for seeing the project through had been a real example of what the young people of the area can achieve. These youngsters have, with a limited time scale been inventive in their ideas on how they want to see the project work. I would also recommend that young people who registered last year but did not win that they should think about taking part again this year “.
The event will take place on Saturday 23rd February at the Youth Centre commencing at 5pm. To come along and support the young people taking part in the event and to encourage the young people who are driving the event forward it will cost £2.50 per person, under 5’s will be free of charge and a family ticket (two adults and two children) will only cost £5.00, a good night out for a reasonable cost. There will be a raffle and tea/coffee will be available.
