Under 15 Falcons were away at Nunthorpe in a must win game, but it was the hosts’ who took a deserved lead. After stern words at half time and some tactical changes the Falcons found the equaliser though Grant Holmes – then with minutes to go Andrew Matthews netted the winner. Great result but not the performance.
The Under 13s travelled to face an under strength South Park Rangers side low on confidence. It was anything but an easy win with SPR asking all the questions early on and to be honest they were unlucky not to get at least 2 goals. Aycliffe rode the storm and managed to get their noses in front and build from there on in – with only 11 players themselves, lacked a little confidence.
The team played well although still panic a little when in possession. Well done and 3 welcome points. Goals from Josh Richardson (4), Chloe Ryan (3), Keiron Todd (2) and Tom Baptist (1). Man of the Match was close but went to Joe Hind with an excellent display on his debut.
The Under 13 Girls were not in League action and played their part in an excellent friendly with the Under 12 Falcons at The Oak Leaf on Saturday morning. Great individual and team performances from both sides and refereed very well by young Matthew Morton. This game showed just why NAYFC is the success that it is! Well done everyone involved.
Under 12 Eagles had a tough game against Coulby Newham Reds and although the boys started brightly for the first 10 minutes, found themselves a goal down.
Then Riley Seaman, with a fantastic half way line strike, lobbed their goal keeper for 1-1. Second half saw the Eagles go 2-1 down very early, after working really hard in the first half, eventually crashing 5-1. Man of the Match with a solid performance; Riley Seaman. Onwards and upwards for the lads who have set there sights on a top 4 finish!
Under 11 Falcons entertained Normandy and ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Dylan and Clayton Edwards
Man of the Match went to Liam Horner. The boys played brilliant and they continue to improve
Under 11 Eagles – A fantastic team performance away to Saxon Juniors, the Eagles were unstoppable. Goals from Kian Cook (3), Adam Lowe (3), Rhys Williamson (1) (debut) and Evan Thompson (1). Man of the Match was also Evan Thompson in defence but it could have been a number of the boys. Everyone played their part. 3-8 the final score.
Under 8 Falcons were away to a very good Trimdon Village side who have won every league game. The boys started really well but somehow found themselves 2-0 down but pulled a goal back through Travis Dixon. Second half saw the boys dominate but lost their shape and conceded to go 3-1 down. The boys never let their heads go down and Travis Dixon pulled a goal back. We were on top and looking for the equaliser but instead got caught on the break and conceded a fourth. Man of the Match was Travis Dixon. Game ended 4-2. The second game was pretty even. Falcons went ahead with a superb goal off the post from Alex Beattie. Trimdon pulled one back just before the break. Second half was neck and neck until the last 2 minutes when a loss of concentration saw a 1 on 1 with the keeper and they scored the winner. Man of the Match was Alex Beattie.
Under 8s Eagles unbeaten run finally came to an end against Wynyard who triumphed 5-4. A very close game played in great spirit, well done Wynyard for pressing hard and working well. Aycliffe boys were disappointed at the final whistle but must now show how to bounce back. Heads up, we are proud and another opportunity next week!
