Aycliffe U10 Eagles v Greatham FC
A fantastic performance from the boys getting a result against solid opposition. It was a really windy day so keeping the ball on the ground and playing good football was what the match required and this definitely suited the Eagles style. Using the wind to their advantage, the boys took control of the game in the 1st half. In the 2nd half, against the wind the boys remained solid and kept pushing. Four goals and a clean sheet for the Eagles.
Kader v Aycliffe U10 Eagles
On a very windy day, the boys had the wind in their faces against a team looking for promotion. The boys were unlucky to go in at half time 2-1 down despite creating a number of chances. The boys put a lot of effort into the second half. but couldn’t get a goal back.
Aycliffe U10 Falcons v Chilton Juniors Reds
A friendly for our newest team as they prepare for the Russell Foster Spring Cup. Chilton started well and quickly went in to a two goal lead. However, the more the game went on, the confidence started to grow. A brace from Ollie brought the game level before a superb volley by Sam, from outside the box, ended up being the winning goal.
MOM: Jayden for his sheer work rate throughout the game.
Aycliffe U11 Falcons v Dormanstown Rovers
Great game from both teams in very windy conditions. Fairly even first half. Falcons scored first, just before HT, with a good corner from Sam, a few touches in the box and a goal from Phoenix who melted some hearts with his celebration. HT 1-0. 2nd half goals from Evan Banks, Sam & Evan Bowman sealed the win. FT 4-2.
POM Opposition: Evan Bowman / Coaches: Phoenix and Tyler.
Aycliffe U13 Eagles 7 v TIBS Yellow 0
The Eagles started brightly with an early goal for Harrison Taylor just a few minutes in. Quickly followed by goals for Wade Jefferson on his debut and Sam Maddison. HT 3-0. Second half saw some better football and goals for Tarek Al Saleh, Sam M and Jake and a first ever league goal, from a super free kick, for Man of the Match Saleh.
Aycliffe U13 Wildcats 3 v Darlington Quakers 6
Another tough match. It was a really good game early on and the football was end to end. Aycliffe went 2-0 down, but still looked like they were in the game. Imogen scored a cracking goal to get us back into the game. It was 5-1 at HT. We asked the girls to go out and try to win the second half. We did win it 2-1 with 2 goals from Madison, her first goals for the team.
Aycliffe U14 Girls 0 v Chester Town Sapphires 0
Aycliffe got off to a brilliant start with three shots on target within the opening few minutes and continued to pile on the pressure. Throughout the game Aycliffe did everything right, from work rate, passing and movement. But they just couldn’t find the finishing touch needed to take the lead. In the end they had to settle for a draw, but came away happy with a clean sheet. POTM: Jasmine.
Aycliffe U16 Eagles 1 v Hebburn Town 1
The Eagles took the lead from a fantastic ball from Will towards goal, the Hebburn keeper fumbled it, but Olly had gambled. He plucked the ball out of the air, juggled with it and then tapped home for the opener. Then just before half time, Hebburn equalised against the run of play. The second half had the Eagles with the wind, but, despite having most of the play, the lads couldn’t find a winner. MOM went to Olly who had a great game, his pressing was outstanding and he worked so hard for the team.
