Grangetown Boys 0 v Aycliffe U13 Eagles 7
A goal in the opening minutes from Tarek Al Saleh set the Eagles free to play some fantastic football, adding to the tally were Sam Maddison, Harry Williams and Mo Krubally sending us into half time 4-0. They continued to dominate the second half, even after changes were made, with two more from Tarek and a further goal from Mo, to see the Eagles take all three points and extend their unbeaten run to 11.
Washington Athletic 1 v Aycliffe U13 Wildcats 3
It was a bottom of the table clash, so this was a must win. We started well and went 1-0 up when Sophie played a ball to Imogen for her to drive into the bottom corner. The second half we were under a fair bit of pressure and Washington eventually equalised. They then pushed on to try and win it, but we scored two in six minutes, Imogen and Brooke scoring to seal the win and a precious three points.
Aycliffe U16 Eagles 4 v Hartlepool Pools Youth 0
A fantastic team performance against second in the league. The Eagles dominated for the majority of the match and were rewarded with four very well taken goals. A clean sheet for our ‘blue wall’ who worked tirelessly to keep the Pools forwards from scoring. Goals from Ashton x 2, Albie and Olly. MOM Joint:- Harry and Kian.
Aycliffe U15 Girls 2 v South Moor 1
A close contest in which South Moor took the lead in the first half, with a dubious goal, where the ball was adjudged to have crossed the line. We then equalised when Amy Dowson sprinted through to finish one-on-one. In the second half we defended well and were under the cosh but we got the winning goal, when a free kick was played in beautifully by Holly for Amy Dowson to grab her second of the game at the far post.
Aycliffe U18 Girls 6 v Darlington Locomotives 1
A thoroughly dominant Aycliffe took time to find the net, but after creating many chances, which were missed, took control and went in four up at HT. The game saw a solid debut for Paige Campbell and the lasses strolled on for a convincing 6-1 win over a plucky Darlington team with three goals for Demi, 2 for Ebz and 1 for Keira-Leigh.
Grangetown Boys 2 v Aycliffe U15 Boys 2
A tough game on paper, against second in the league and compounded by a long injury list, the lads were going to be up against it. Grangetown converted a first half penalty and took a two-goal lead early in the second half. The lads never gave up, started to figure out how to break down Grangetown, Josh getting one back with 25 minutes to go. They had the momentum behind them, the equaliser was headed in by Will. With still ten minutes left, it could have gone either way, as both teams went for it, but a draw was a fair and a brilliant result for the lads. MOMs: Jacob, Josh and Oli.
Aycliffe U10 Wildcats v Darlington Locomotives
A tight game with chances for both teams, but neither could find a goal, so the spoils were shared. POTM went to the Wildcats keeper, Anna.
Prissick Rovers v Aycliffe U11 Eagles
What a game! Some outstanding football saw the Falcons five goals up. Hunter scored a great hat-trick in the first half. Second half and Harry L fired one in, then Evan B scored a well-deserved goal. Then came a valuable lesson, never think it’s over. Credit to Prissick, they never gave up, in the final 15 minutes scoring four, before Harry L scored a worldie. POM Opposition: Hunter. Coaches POMs: Evan B & Harry L.
