Over the weekend 7th/8th September most of our 22 teams started a new season.
Aycliffe U10 Wildcats v Bishop Pinks
Debut day for our newest girls teams, after putting in the hard work over the summer. Lots of positives from all ten players as they start the footballing journey.
Aycliffe U8 Eagles v South Park Rangers
A great first game of the season as the boys raced into an early lead with some good goals after some crisp passing. Second half we let the opposition pull a couple of goals back before we composed ourselves again to go on and win the game. Goals scored by Kurtis, Fraser (2) and Luke (4). A good win in the development game too and first matches for Jacob and Seb. Thanks to our sponsor DASS.
Aycliffe U9 Wildcats v Sunderland West End
Great start to the season for the girls. First 7v7 league game for the team and a first competitive game for Millie P, Millie V and Bonnie. Everyone played brilliantly, Millie P, Alice, Layla, Ella (1), Emelia (2), Millie V, Sophie (4) and Bonnie (2).
Aycliffe U10 Eagles v Coulby Newham
The 1st half could easily have yielded a three or four goal lead, with the boys well on top. As tired legs crept in during the second half it was more difficult, but the boys kept going until the end for a single goal win
Aycliffe U11 Falcons v 21st All Stars
A close game, with both teams having spells in control. Solid defending from both teams including an outstanding one on one save from Harry M saw the game goalless at half time. Allstars had their chances, but were denied by some outstanding saves from Kyle. A fantastic cross by George H saw Zach score the last minute winner. Opposition POM Kyle.
Aycliffe U13 Wildcats 0 v Hartlepool United 4
First game for the girls playing their new format of 11 a-side, and it is taking a bit of getting used to. There were many positive things to take from the game as it ended 0-0 at H-T. It finished 0-4, although we created a few chances, but couldn’t force any of them home
21st All Stars 0 v Aycliffe U14 Girls 3
Brilliant start to the new season with a win and clean sheet. The girls were certainly excited for their first game back, but, at the same time, also looked a bit nervous. The game started with Darlington applying pressure. But the team soon found their feet and secured a brilliant result. MOTM: Payton Teder.
Aycliffe U15 Girls 3 v Felling Magpies 4
An exciting match to start the season. Two down after 30 minutes, but pulled one back before half time by Ebony. We equalised through Amy who controlled with her right and volleyed with her left. Felling got another two but we got another by Amy to finish 3-4 FT. POTM Ebony.
Durham Pumas 2 v Aycliffe U16 Eagles 0
First game playing two divisions higher than last season. The scoreline doesn’t do the lads justice. We were passing really well, the lads were finally communicating with each other and the boys were physical winning the ball back time and time again. Disappointing result, but an outstanding performance. MOM Liam.
