Wildcats Girls Development section
A day at the football for some of our wildcats, to see the Wildcats (Durham women’s FC) v Coventry United. New scarf’s for the girls, new supporters for the women, unfortunately it ended in a 0-0 draw, so no goals to cheer but a great day out for all the girls. If you are in reception/Yr1/Yr2 and would like to try football, contact Berni 07939 045242.
Billingham Synthonia 1 v 8 Aycliffe u15 Eagles
The lads started fast with a couple of early goals to settle us down. We went into HT 4-0 up. Plenty of changes during the game allowing us to press with high intensity when out of possession. After the break we got a bit complacent and didn’t play as well as we know we can. We still managed to put another 4 past Billingham in the second half and conceding just the one scrappy goal. Goals: Matthew 4, Noah 1, Tom 1, Kye1, Joey 1. MOM: Tom.
Aycliffe u11 Girls 1 v 1 Cleveland Hall
The girls were unlucky not to be a couple of goals up in the first 15 minutes. Then on 24 minutes Lily passed to Lyra who scores. HT 1-0. The second half was a lot more challenging, but the girls defended well but were caught out by a freakish goal which found the back our net from about 35 yards. The last 15 minutes of the game was very scrappy and the points were shared. Managers Star Player: Lyra. Players Star Players: Marley & Peyton.
Darlington Locos 3 v 4 Aycliffe u18 Girls
First match of the league shield, and a early goal from Darlo seemed to push the girls on and we scored twice with goals from Ruby and Olivia. Then, mins before HT, with Aycliffe pushing forward, we concede on the break, HT 2-2. The second half was much better as we kept possession and two wonder goals from Morgan set us up for the victory, but an OG near the end led to a nervy last 5 mins but we held on for the win.
Aycliffe u11Eagles 5 v 7 Whinny Banks
Whinny Banks started the stronger of the 2 sides their forward was quick and strong and managed to get past our defence a few times in the first half. Then Jack found space to finish in style. HT 1-6. However, the boys dominated the second half. A free kick by Krystian was smashed it top corner. Again, Krystian on the ball, taken down in the box. Penalty, Krystian converts. Aycliffe attack, Evan slots into the bottom corner. Then on the break Whinny Banks score. Aycliffe had the final word as Brandon played a ball for Krystian to calmly finish. MOTM Jack.
Adults
Newton Aycliffe u23’s 1 – 1 South Moor (Aycliffe win 3-1 on penalties)
Another cup game for the 23’s was always going to be a tough game. A tight first half but a penalty was awarded when Kieran was brought down but their keeper saved well from Steve. In to the 2nd half and Aycliffe go behind to a bit of good play from South Moor, we responded but chances were wasted. Aycliffe go down to 10 men but with 30 seconds to go we win a penalty which is converted at the second attempt by Cobi. Full time and straight to a penalty shoot and Aycliffe win 3-1 to progress to the next round.
