The heavy rain last week meant that the Oakleaf pitches were closed for the full weekend, however, some away games did manage to go ahead.
Chester United v Aycliffe U13 Girls
Both teams observed a minutes silence in memory of Darren Scott, coach for our U15 Eagles, who sadly died last weekend.
For most of the first half Aycliffe were on the front foot and kept Chester at bay. Unfortunately, the ball didn’t find the back of the net. Second half and Chester started the brighter of the two teams they were passing the ball well and creating chances. Through tired legs and minimal subs, the game started slipping away from Aycliffe but the girls should be proud of how they played. A real battle and against a team who are probably going to finish in the top two of the premier league. POTM: Chloe.
Aycliffe U8 Wildcats
The girls were up against a very good CLS Golds, in what proved to be a very physical game. Every one of the girls gave 100% and fought for each other. Well done girls, you all ran yourselves ragged.
Hartlepool Utd v Aycliffe U18 Girls
An away trip to play the already crowned league champions. The first 15 minutes Aycliffe were on the front foot but three times the woodwork prevented them taking the lead, then Hartlepool showed why they are champions creating two chances and scoring both. Laila then kept us in the game with a couple of good saves. HT 2-0. The second half belonged to the home team as they again showed how to finish. Aycliffe had a couple of chances, battled for every ball, but Hartlepool ran out winners. FT 6-0.
