An interesting and challenging opportunity exists for anyone interested in becoming a trustee of the Vocational Learning Trust, a charity which owns The Work Place in Newton Aycliffe. The building will be celebrating 10 years in 2018, and it is time for the charity to bring in some new blood.
Trustees should have an underlying belief in the importance of economic well-being in the North East, and in the work readiness of the Region’s young people. The Vocational Learning Trust’s Board is looking for trustees with the skills needed to be an effective landlord of an iconic building, able to rise to unexpected challenges. The Trustees work closely with the Directors of the wholly owned trading company -The Work Place (Aycliffe) Ltd., who manage the day to day operation.
The Vocational Learning Trust Board meets twice a year, with other meetings arranged when issues arise. Trustees then need to be able to give some time until a solution is found. Interested people should contact the Chairman who will arrange for a visit to the Trust.
A letter of application should be sent to Miss Jane Ritchie MBE, The Vocational Learning Trust, The Work Place, Heighington Lane, Newton Aycliffe, DL5 6AH by 31st May 2018. Alternatively letters of application can be emailed to info@twpa.org.uk marked FAO Miss Jane Ritchie.
