Police Commissioner Ron Hogg has announced in his new budget that Newton Aycliffe will have a new Police Station.
We rang him this week and he confirmed it will be a single storey module building on the site of the old Police Sation which will be demolished this year.
The new station costing £½ million will be completed in 2014 at which time the police will move from Parsons Court on the Business Park back into the Town Centre.
Ron Hogg told Newton News he recognised the strength of feeling of residents on policing in Newton Aycliffe and was pleased to include the capital spend in his first budget.
